Will finches breed without a nest?

I'm planing on breeding one pair of finches at a time (might get 2 pairs) and keeping them in the same room, but in 2 cages, one for the currently breeding pair with an attached nest and one for the other pair with no nest. Will the one pair breeding make the other pair want to breed?
