Has anybody used Popeye's image after it became public domain in Europe?

On 1st January 2009, 70 years after the death of its author and as stated by the European laws about copyright, the character of Popeye has fallen into public domain (but not the name as it is still registered trademark). Do we have examples of initiatives that used the "now-free-from-copyright" image of Popeye in this past year?
